Gobble gobble said the turkey.

Every once in a while Addie comes home with a homework assignment. This week she was asked to decorate Tom Turkey. Her solution was right up my ally- sprinkles! Clint and I have made a deal that with these kind of projects she is in charge of production but that we are here to help. I believe Clint helped with the layout, but Addie did the gluing and sprinkling.

The other weekly project Addie has is her share. This weeks' share is to draw a picture of what our family eats for Thanksgiving. Here, Addie has drawn turkey, fruit, vegetables, gravy, stuffing, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes. Addie has also drawn pictures of the annual attendees- this includes our family and Nini and Papa. Can you guess who is who?

Sunday's best.

Off to church.

Yesterday I was in the kitchen working, Mac was napping and Addie came in and told me it was time for my appointment...?
Upstairs I went to the girls' room where they had lay blankets out all over the floor and all the stuffed animals were lined up. Addie had a piece of paper on her desk with my name written. "Welcome to our salon. It says here you have an appointment. My name is Lily and my sweetie's name is Marabelle. I'll me doing your hair and Marabelle will be doing your nails. Please come in."

Pony Jet Potluck

Friday night was a gathering of freinds that Addie has really gotten to know and enjoy. They are all neighbors in another neighborhood but we've gone to camp, played soccer and are now taking ski lessons with them. We all have 3 kids- and Sam is the only boy above 17 months old. He's a trooper and the girls all let him pick a video to watch at the end of the evening- Cars was the pick. It was a great night.

Against the rules

I am pretty sure that Jeri doesn't allow this at her house.

What IS this stuff?

Based on his reaction this morning to playing in the snow, I don't think Michael remembers it from last year. I try to block it out as well! He really liked eating, except the stuff he picked up with leaves in it!

Three things

There are only 3 things that Addie won't eat- pizza, bananas and yogurt.
Over the last week she has eaten all 3. Hmmmm.

Tru-MAN

Today is day 3 with Truman and we are all in doggy heaven! We all have fallen in love with Truman and even our one non-dog-lover has declared that she "wants to keep Trummy forever". Not sure that the Dentz family could do with out him, we are enjoying our last day with him.
I was online last night searching Cavadoodle breeders and telling Clint we could get one for the kids for Xmas! He just looked at me.

Churros

A quick trip to Costco... alsways time for fried dough!

When I was pregnant with Mary, Addie and I were in Costco one day when she started planning. The baby would sit next to her in the cart, first in the carseat and then with the built in seatbelt. Look how far we've come.

Black socks

There is something about little boys and dark socks. I love it!

Security headband

Mary has 2 things that help her through the day- her thumb and her headbands. She wears a headband 24/7. She sleeps in them, she eats in them, she even tries to bathe in them. She makes me smile :-)

V is for VOTE

It was a lovely day to vote - McCain vs. Obama, Coleman vs. Franken, 70 degrees and sunny. Clint voted during lunch and then came home so I could go vote. Mary decided she wanted to come with me so we walked 1 1/2 blocks to Kenny- a perfect day for a stroll.

It was her first time at the polls- and there was lots of candy! She helped me feed my ballot into the electronic ballot box, she even got a sticker that said "I Voted". What a monumental experience for a 3 1/2 yr-old!

When we emerged back to the street, Mary looked at me all wide-eyed and said, "So Mommy, where are all the boats? I really want to go boating!"

A morning with Mac

Yesterday was one of those days that you live for. I got up, went for a run with my pals, has a cup of coffee, walked Addie to school, and then just played with Michael. It was warm- got up to 78 degrees yesterday. I started taking down some of the Halloween decor outside, and if you recall, Mac has a thing for the bats. We spent a good part of an hour playing with them, dragging them, stacking them, hiding them, pulling them, rolling them, and just carrying them (he actually wanted to sleep with one last night but I had to draw the line). The second part of an hour was spent watching the bobcat up the street crush a driveway and put it all in a dump truck. It was just so easy and so awesome.

Little boys

I am really learning to love little boys. I never really got it before as I have 2 very girly girls. Not that I have really ever gotten them, but the whole car/truck/train thing was so foreign to me. I've learned to love it. Michael got this sweater from Aunt Polly and he just loves it. Its getting to be too small but I can't imagine him not wearing it anymore- its a perfect little boy sweater with a train on it. I don't buy things with applique's- never purchased things with bear, puppies, dinosaurs, but there is something about his love of cars. I have purchased only PJs with trucks or trains, and he even has a pair of khakis with a little dump truck on them. It makes him happy. I know- he is the golden child for now but its all the fun new things that we are doing because of Mac. The girls LOVE playing monster truck and have even taken to watching NASCAR... oh but that is because of Clint :-)
