She's a little bit country, and we know he's rock-n-roll!
Now, perhaps its my memories of Father-Daughter dances at the ole'Academy, but this just about brought tears to my eyes. Addie and Clint went to a dance at school Friday night- a square dance to be exact. They had such fun- Addie was just beaming when they got home... maybe it was the ice cream he took her out to afterward, or may she just loves her dad :-)
My Ace of Cakes
I mean, are you kidding me? Look at what my bud Delphine delivered on the morning of my birthday! Can you stand it? And guess what.... its carrot cake :-)
The inevitable.
Here is my new best friend and worst enemy. I had orthoscopic and ligament surgery on my right ankle. 20 years ago, I stepped off a bus and severely sprained my ankle. Ever since then I have had a severe sprain every couple of years. Over the past couple of years its been more than that. Usually its 2-3 days off my foot and then a bit of limping and ten I wait until I do it again. I've not worn heels in 10 years, clogs in 3, and I usually still find my way to hurting myself. In February, I was walking down the stairs and injured my ankle- not a sprain, but what the Dr. refers to as "kissing the dome". Ouch. It never really healed and with my running career on hold temporarily, my peeps and I decided it was time to tackle this thing. So, here I am for 6 weeks. No driving. Currently, no walking.
Mom arrived to help out, my friends have an online calendar to schedule kid pick up and drop off, dinner delivery, and hopefully soon and outing for me. I couldn't ask for more. Accept for Mom to move in with us :-)
Its a weird thing being still and quiet for me. I am struggling with Mommy guilt but know that the kids are better off at a friend's house to play that with me sitting on the couch. Like being on maternity leave, I had all these ideas of things I'd be doing. Instead, I'm hooked on watching episodes of "Friday Night Lights" on hulu.com.
My best friend and angel, Clint, is the hero of it all. He's taken on house duty and even made lunches while watching the Caps game last night- atta boy! Oh, and I am sorry for kicking you in the middle of the night with my cast.
I am most grateful to the people in my live for making me take time out to do this for me. I am a blessed and lucky gal. I hope to pay it forward.

Casting
Addie and Mary took on a paper mache project see what a cast would feel like. We didn't have any volunteers so we used a strawberry container. Now that is recycling!
Posse at the park
Mary had a blast with her friends at the park! Spring has arrived for Mary, Caroline, Allison and Bethie (and Mac if you can find him).
Heidi
This outfit arrived in a box of clothes from Kelly. This is the Halloween costume I wore when I went as Heidi (*note to self to get this book for the girls). I thought I was older than this.... I'll have to check with Kelly, a.k.a. my memory.

Hats
Clint often says that people aren't wearing enough hats these days. Michael is making up for that as he spends his days (yes, all day) wearing bike helmets. Doesn't matter whose. It was a good thing he wore this one to our friend's house Saturday as he tool a spill off their slide... but was perfectly protected! Love it!
Fantastic fort!
Here is the fort we concocted last week over Easter Break. It was so popular that it was in place all week and hosted 2 camp outs. The girls were very sad when it was time to take it down. I couldn't believe the amount of stuff they had collected under there!

No picture necessary
Today was the first day of Easter break for Addie. Hil and I decided today was a good day to take the girls to the movies but I wasn't sure about finding a sitter for Mac.... so we brought him with us! It was Hil's idea and it made me so nervous.
HE LOVED IT! He lay on my lap the entire time, one hand tucked behind his head and the other in the popcorn bucket. When either a monster or an alien jolted him into motion, he sat straight up, yelled "WHOA!" and then lay back down to relax and get some more corn.

Addie is Star of the Week
We had a lot of fun going through all of our pictures and picking out a few that really show off who she is! Her favorites were those at the beach but her friend's like the picture of her Webkins!

April Fools!
Clint came home and said, "Where is she?" I called the girls in- they smiled and yelled,"April Fools!"
I think he was relieved, to say the least.
(I still got it)

Abino
She's finally coming home! I can't believe we've been waiting so long! The girls are beside themselves. Of course its rainy/snowy and the yard is a huge mud pit! I even made a cake to celebrate :-) Welcome home sweet girl!
