Story time

Can there me anything more wonderful than pulling out the stack of Christmas books? The kids (and I) get so excited and in the spirit once the is time to sit and plow though all the glorious stories of the Holidays. This year, I added "The Christmas Magic" to our library - its a beautiful book.

Ho-Ho-Ho

A Minneapolis tradition is a trip to the 8th floor of Marshall Field's (now Macy's) to see the indoor Christmas windows. Mary's favorite part is still going down the twisty exit ramp in the parking garage. I think Mac's favorite this year was Santa.

The Big Bake Sale

Mary's room at school needed a new scale because theirs broke. Someone suggested Miss Robin go buy one. Robin explained that she couldn't just go buy one without any money, so someone suggested a lemonade sale. What transpired was a week long project- advertising, decorating, a field trip to the grocery store, baking (!) and selling. It was awesome, and I think they raised enough to buy that new scale.

Big day- little girl

Mary received an early Christmas present from Nini and Papa at the MOA American Girl Doll store. Mary has been eyeing Kit for a very long time, and has proven herself ready to care for such a special doll. She is in love with Kit, and has even decided to start her own newspaper, just like Kit. Mary's reading Robin Hood to Kit, she changes her and brushes her hair; its love.

Small spaces, happy faces

Our kitchen has served thousands of meals to the little people. The kids have such fun paking onto the bench. Birthday parties, dinner parties, impromtu parties. The kids own this kitchen. I am going to miss it.
