One of my favorite things about our home, is our backyard. Especially in the summer- its so alive! Our bird feeders continue to entertain us and the cardinal family in constant struggle against the 2 blue jays. The fact that we sit on top of the hill is another joy! Without anything to get in between us and the sky, I can see the summer storms rolling in from the West. I can see beautiful summer sunsets. I can only guess how tall those trees over there are.We used to pick up the yard in the evenings and put the toys away. this summer there are too many other important things to be doing- like playing. Our yard is scattered with misc. rings, balls, trucks and push toys. The playhouse is littered with random kitchen utensils and the sandbox only partially covered for quick and ready access.
With a few additions every year, it really is our little sanctuary. With summer arriving a little late this year, the roses were in bloom for the 4th and the raspberry bushes are just now starting to produce fruit. Who knows when our tomatoes will turn red, but for know, we continue to enjoy all that the MN summer serves us.
