Playing with the boy

Clint took the girls to see 101 Dolmations at the Orpheum on Saturday afternoon. It was, therefore, my and Michael's job to get the Halloween decorations out. I am assuming that Michael doesn't "get" Halloween, but he is having so much fun learning about it! We've been reading lots of books- The Ghoul Bus, Goodnight Goon, The Night Before Halloween, and a house favorite, 10 Timid Ghosts. He loves to find the spiders in all the pictures, and thinks the pumpkins are pretty darn cool.

We had a great time hanging bats, and gohls, and witches, and then sitting on the lwan reading stories and having a snack.

MEA

Today is day 1 of MEA- some kind of holiday, I mean conference, for all the MN teachers :-) The girls both have playdates and Mac and I'll be having a nap, just like all the MN teachers. I figured on a cold fall morning, with sleet falling out our windows, we should all stay in bed and watch Dora this morning. Poor Clint, he had to leave to go to the dentist.

Playoff time!

Clint took Addie to Twins game to cheer them on. After 12 innings, the Twins won to get into the playoffs. Bring on the Yankees!

The rest of us had to watch from the sidelines:

An apple a day...

September rounds these parts has been more like July. Today, we went with Kate and Liam to pick some apples, Honeycrisp to be exact. At $2.25 a pound, its a bargain compaired to the market. The raspberries were still in full glroy so we picked several pints as well. It was a great day.

Eight down...

Septemberfest

We spent the weekend in the parking lot at school celebrating Septemberfest! Rides, games, food, beer, music, and lots of friends... Addie proclaimed it was the best day ever. Sunday morning Mass was celebrated on the lawn- another perfect 80 and sunny kinda day. More rides, and lots of fun! Here is Addie and her friend Trinity - face painted and collecting tickets in the beer tent (um, ask Clint...).

Jamberry

We found the greatest little farm about 20 minutes south of our house where we can pick the most delicious raspberries! We've been twice and I am thinking about going again...
Here is a lovely shot (styled by Kate) of the jam that Mary and I made.

My beautiful butterfly

My Mary is off to pre-K this morning in the Butterfly Room at Fraser. She is very excited and has been waiting her turn as patiently. Miss Robin is her teacher and Mary already knows her from a short stint in the Firefly room. Her friends Caroline and Bethie are also in her class. Mary has always been a little hesitant at drop-but I think this is the year she has blossomed!
