Tuesday was Carnaval at Addie's school. What an undertaking! This year's theme was the sesquicentennial of MN. Each grade represented an area of the state. They all had games and activities, hall decorations and an amazing food court! Its an all day affair and the kids have to get enough stamps to show they made it around the whole school. We had a blast square dancing, sewing on buttons, making necklaces, fishing, learning an Irish jig, and so much more! Here are a few shots from the day!

Addie's class was Minneapolis so we decorated the hall with Lake Harriet and all the sports teams.
Our food booth was like a stadium, but check out some of the other booths!! Just call us slacker new K parents :-)

Here is a picture me and Addie working in the food booth. She had so much fun puring lemonade and making nachos- plastic gloves and all. This other picture is Addie and her 3rd grade buddy Kiera. She and Addie (and Zoe, 5th grade) all sit together at Mass, read together and so special projects. Addie and Kiera adore each other!

Princess Mary is finally 4!

On Saturday, Mary was lucky enough to have her friends come to celebrate her birthday with her! It was a good old fashioned birthday party at the house- musical mats, cookie decorating, cake and presents. Lucky little girl- I love all the way to the moon and back!
Click here to see all the pictures or check out the album below!!

Mary's 4th Birthday Party!

Four is better than three!

Finally, Mary's turn at a birthday. It is so hard for her - she patiently waits, but its getting harder and harder. But when it comes, she enjoys it. Be sure to watch the videos
Her day started with cinnamon rolls as big as her head! It was a nice calm morning. After Addie and Clint left for school and work, we hung out and just played. It was great! Mary and Mac are getting better at playing together. They spend a lot of time together :-)

The morning was spent with friends at the indoor playground. All was well up at the very top until Mac went straight down a random slide and I had to go after him- leaving Mary somewhat abandoned at the top. No wonder she doesn't always want to play with him! We had a great time, regardless.

While Mac had a nap, Mary and I frosted her cake, played a game, read about 40 books and got lots of snuggles.

Our evening's festivities kicked off with balloons,

Mary's dinner choice: Nachos

Sierra and Holly came up to celebrate with us. We opened gifts (a scooter!!) and had yummy pink cake.

All this just in preparation for Jell-O at school and a her Princess Party... still to come.

Go green!

This year for Valentine's Day, Addie wanted to go green. We asked around and collected all of our friends' broken crayons (an environmental mess those crayons!), peeled the paper, broke up into little pieces and melted them to make new crayons. Addie chose to string her for necklaces, and Mary chose to use all those pesky twist ties they've collected at the market. It was a green hearted day around here. Hope yours was too.
